You don't have to be religious to enjoy this stunning release. This is modern choral music, performed by Oxford based Commotio, directed by Matthew Berry. It's a CD release on the budget-priced Naxos label, which is available widely.
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=126161604 The main piece is "Luminosity" which is half an hour of celestial bliss, with an interesting accompaniment of tanpura, organ and percussion. It's really something special and should have been placed first on the disc. Instead it is preceded by 9 shorter pieces, all of which are of a very high standard, although they lack the epic embrace of "Luminosity" itself. Be sure to check out the audio samples at the link given above or at Amazon, because this is a real find.
Artwork is from the Hubble, and the full text of "Luminosity" is included in the 8-page booklet. If you fancy something different, this could be just what you're looking for.
